I absolutely love the fact that you have consulted and collaborated with the librarian on this project. That is so meaningful.
Since you are going to buy 3 of the book carts and they will take a prominent space in your library, you might even want to consider something like the book carts that Sharon Cleveland linked to in Highsmith. It would give you maneuverability and the wood look would be not quite as industrial looking.
I can't quite tell -- do your moveable walls have wheels on the bottom? I assume they do from the concept of "moveable."
I like how you have expanded your idea for evaluation beyond the walls of the library itself - with a blog. I'm not sure you will get a lot of reaction but the whole concept of integrating yourself into the community is a good one.
